CPCAB Level 2 Award Introduction to Counselling Skills

The CPCAB Level 2 Award in Introduction to Counselling Skills will benefit students from 16 years to mature adults who want to learn initial counselling skills to help others – either in a voluntary or an employed situation and who want to find out more about this field. Although this course won’t teach them to be a counsellor, it may help them decide whether or not they want to train as one. This nationally recognised 30 guided learning hour qualification is intended for candidates who wish to develop their listening skills in order to:
  • improve communication
  • improve existing work roles
  • enhance personal relationships
  • improve collegial relationships within workplace teams
  • enhance helping relationships
  • promote better community relations

You will be introduced to some basic counselling concepts through the seven units of study. Your learning will be through group discussion, tutor input, skills practice and personal reflection. The course will run over six sessions of six hours each, making a total of 36 hours. You will have a course folder to record your learning and there will be an external assessment.

No previous experience is needed or additional requirements to join the course.  However, please contact  Network Training to speak with Judith  the course tutor who will gladly discuss the suitability of this course for you.
